The Battle of Eutaw Springs took place in Orangeburg County in early 1781. The battle was and still is remembered today in American history. It was one of the most major engagement in the Carolinas. The American Commanders was Nathan Greene. The British Commander was Alexander Stewart. The battle happened September 8, 1781 due to the Continenal  Army inforced a supprise attack on British troops. Greene commanded 2,200 men compered to British troops which were only 2,000 men the British didn’t stand a chance. The Americans won the Battle of Eutaw Springs. Sadly over 579 American solider’s died in that war. Over 882 Britian solider’s were killed in the war with the American solider’s, That is the Battle of Eutaw Springs.
